wanna know more
about this weirdo?
Hi, I’m Amanda!
…lover of color, design, and a mean cup of coffee. With lots of cream. So maybe not so mean. In my spare moments, I love laughing, creating, cooking, baking, sewing, and oh—flying small planes. 🙂
As a little girl, I loved coloring. But it wasn’t until I was a senior in high school that the world of graphic design opened up to me.
Graduation day was nearing, and my mom told me she wasn’t going to buy my graduation party invitations. (Thanks, Mom!)
I was on my own.
One day, I saw a free trial for Photoshop, and I played around with graphics until I came up with a basic invitation.
It was hideous! I’m serious.
But for some reason, my friends started asking me for help with their invitations, and I fell in love with… it.
I didn’t even know what this thing I was doing was called, so when I found out there was actually a major for Graphic Design, I was shocked. You mean I could actually learn about and then make money doing this? Who knew?
Apparently lots of people. Except me.
So I packed my bags, moved to sunny—and stormy—Florida, studied Graphic Design at Pensacola Christian College, and loved every minute of it (almost… Principles of Drawing, I’m looking at you.)
After college, I planned to go home to Cleveland, Ohio, and work at an ad agency downtown. You know, in the city, where I belonged. But instead, on a recommendation from a wonderful friend (who’s also my copywriter—I added this part after she was done. HAH!), I moved to small-town Oklahoma and took a job as the Publication Coordinator for The Global Baptist Times, a magazine for churches and church planters.
In 2017, I married a goofball of a man and the love of my life, Chace. Etc. We have a crazy, full-of-life baby girl named Piper. Her older brothers, Murphy, a needy Australian shepherd, and Mason, a floppy golden retriever, love knocking her over. Just bein’ honest.
From the day when I created that graduation invitation until now, (and thankfully with a lot of learning in between so my designs are no longer hideous), I’ve loved the world of creating and all things design. And I’d love to be the one who helps make beautiful design within your reach.
If you have an idea for an event, let me help. Need a rebrand? I’m your girl. Getting married and need invitations? I’d love to chat with you about your big day and big dreams.
